I found this fascinating quote today:

I was at my hair dressers today, yes one of the still guilty financial draining pleasures I have. We were discussing what I do for a living . . . Maximizing the technology that companies have through training and coaching. Of course got onto social networking and the whole place exploded. All this on line how about the real life experience of chatting and getting to know people?amychorew.com, At the Hairdressers, It’s All About People, Sep 2009

I’M ON MY WAY…JUST SET ME FREE…HOME SWEET HOME – IT’S THE PERFECT….TIME TO BUY REAL ESTATE

As you can see in the chart below, Housing Starts have fallen significantly since June 2008, but in last week’s report, they broke free to come in at their highest level since last November. Building Permits were a bit lower than expectations, but the overall report suggests that while we’re not entirely out of the woods yet, the worst in the housing market may have passed and that the industry may be on its way to stabilizing.

A Legacy of Giving, Living, and Leading with Integrity and Ethics for his Community and Country

Waterviews 002Frank Batten, Sr isn’t a household name; except to the millions he had directly or indirectly had an affect on. He has passed but his memory and legacy of leadership and community participation will continue on.http://hamptonroads.com/2009/09/frank-batten-sr-retired-landmark-chairman-dies-82 I only hope that when I pass someone will remember me as fondly as those he knew and touched remember him.

My daughter and her family live in the Tidewater area of Virginia, my oldest granddaughter, Bethany, attends Old Dominion University, my brother lives and works in Richmond, and I and my family grew up in Roanoke, Virginia. To top all of that off, my father-in-law watches, almost exclusively, The Weather Channel. What do all of these ties have in common? Frank Batten, Sr.

What Would You Do with an Extra $8000 Cash?  Buy a home, investment property, farm or ranch?

What if the government decided today that, instead of bailing out Wall Street, it was going to give every American $8,000? What would you do with the money?

For most Americans, paying off credit card debt would be a great way to use the free money. According to a Nilson Report released in April 2009, the average credit card debt per household in the US was $8,329 at the end of 2008. That money from the government would almost wipe out your debt completely. Imagine being completely debt free.
